ŌURA Introduces Oura Gen3 Horizon

Smart ring leader broadens horizons with new perfectly round design and rose gold finish

SAN FRANCISCO, September 28, 2022--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ŌURA, the company behind Oura Ring, the health tracker that delivers accurate, personalized health data, insights, and daily guidance into sleep, activity, readiness, and recovery, today announced the launch of a new design, the Oura Gen3 Horizon, and a sought after new color, Rose Gold. The new perfectly round, sleek, and elegant design utilizes titanium to retain a lightweight, comfortable feel on the body and features a dimple on the bottom to ensure optimal finger placement, all while delivering the same advanced health monitoring features, impressive up-to-7-day battery life, and research-validated sleep staging analysis. Oura Horizon is available now at

"One of the most powerful attributes of the Oura Ring is its form factor," said Tom Hale, ŌURA CEO. "Our research shows that consumers want a tracker that empowers them to live healthier, seamlessly fits into their lives, and looks and feels good on the body. The new Oura Horizon furthers our promise to deliver the most innovative and advanced health tracker while maintaining exceptional comfort and design."

While ŌURA’s authority started in sleep, a critical foundation to health, the Generation 3 technology platform marked an important step for the company in providing members with more data for a complete, holistic picture of their health. ŌURA is now part of a wider industry shift from singularly tracking sleep or activity to monitoring overall daily health and well-being on an ongoing basis, while also leading the charge in women’s health – a historically underserved market in tech and wellness. With a new, understated, and contemporary design, the Oura Gen3 Horizon will deliver the same software and research-grade technology as its predecessor, including Daytime and Live Heart Rate, Period Prediction, Advanced Temperature Sensing, Workout Heart Rate, Blood Oxygen (SpO2) Sensing, Guided Wellness Sessions, and most recently, Personalized Activity Goals and Calorie-Opt Out. These two new activity features allow users to choose either steps or calories for their activity goal and adjust their baseline goals to better suit their lifestyle. Additionally, users have the option to hide calories in the App completely.

ŌURA also plans to release Improved Sleep Staging later in 2022, which was developed using one of the largest sleep datasets collected to-date and validated by the National University of Singapore to allow users to understand how their sleep changes overnight with even more accuracy. Improved Sleep Staging will continue to make ŌURA one of the few consumer sleep trackers on the market to deliver data nearly as accurate as polysomnography (PSG), a lab grade sleep test.

In its latest advertising campaign celebrating the launch of the Oura Gen3 Horizon, ŌURA features two of its longtime brand ambassadors, NBA All-Star Chris Paul and Olympic Gold Medalist Lindsey Vonn. A 30-second commercial tells the story of ŌURA’s powerful functionality coupled with stylish and elegant form, asking, "is it fashion or function?" The answer, as Chris Paul definitively states, is "function, definitely function." Through this lens, the viewer is invited to explore the important balance ŌURA achieves between technology and design.

To date, the Oura Ring has been worn by tech enthusiasts as well as consumers from all walks of life looking to better understand their personal health data, and has trended with celebrities, business leaders, and athletes, including Odell Beckham Jr., Chris Paul, Lindsey Vonn, Arianna Huffington, Carissa Moore, Katie Ledecky, and more. ŌURA is continuing to change the lives of people around the world, as evidenced by member feedback and testimonials. The NBA, WNBA, UFC, NASCAR, and Aston Martin Redbull Racing, have used Oura Ring and the Health Risk Management (HRM) platform to optimize performance and monitor community wellness. Additionally, ŌURA recently announced its partnerships with Strava and Natural Cycles, and collaboration with iconic fashion house Gucci for the special edition Gucci x Oura Ring.

The Oura Horizon starts at $349 and comes in Silver, Black, Stealth, Gold, and a newly released Rose Gold finish. The new design joins the Oura Heritage lineup, which starts at $299. All styles and colors are now available at Press assets can be found here.
