American Water Works (AWK) arm Illinois American Water buys assets of the City of Villa Grove. It plans to invest $21 million in the next seven years to upgrade the infrastructure of acquired assets.
VILLA GROVE, Ill., September 22, 2022--Illinois American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, announced today, the acquisition of the City of Villa Grove water and wastewater systems for $11 million. The newly acquired systems add approximately 1,489 water and 1,069 wastewater customers to the Company’s eastern Illinois service area.
CAMDEN, N.J., September 20, 2022--The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, and New Jersey American Water, announced today the Foundation has provided $25,000 and, in addition, New Jersey American Water has provided $5,000 to The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation’s Get Ready Fest® to help fight food insecurity, supporting 1,000 pre-identified households in the City of Camden.
