Beijing communities remain in lockdown with closed shops

STORY: Some security personnel were seen spraying disinfectant on surfaces near the lockdown areas, as Beijing reported 58 new locally transmitted symptomatic COVID-19 cases for Friday, up from 50 cases a day earlier, the local government said in a statement on Saturday.

China's capital also recorded 12 local asymptomatic cases, the same number as the previous day, authorities said.

Mainland China reported 1,211 new coronavirus cases on Friday, of which 201 were symptomatic and 1,010 were asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said on Saturday.
