India celebrates Hindu festival of Dussehra

STORY: The fireworks in different parts of the country and the burning of the effigies of the three demons colored the skyline.

Dussehra is regarded as the day when Hindu Lord Ram defeated Ravana, the demon-king of Lanka, and rescued his abducted wife, Sita. As per the custom, the effigies of Ravana, are burnt to celebrate the triumph of good over evil.
