Japan VR company lets customers fly without wings

Virtual reality flights take off

Location: Japan

A Tokyo entertainment company

is tapping into the growing market

of virtual reality flights

With trips canceled and travel restricted

grounded holidaymakers can experience

first-class travel in a mock jetliner cabin

where they are served in-flight meals and drinks

and can enjoy views of passing clouds

Customers can also “disembark”

and explore different cities through virtual tours

(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) BUSINESSMAN AND KANAGAWA RESIDENT, KATSUO INOUE, SAYING:

"I often go overseas for business, but I haven't been to Italy. Although I only saw it virtually, my impression was rather good because I got an actual sense of things there."
