Liev Schreiber on his Ukrainian roots, humanitarian efforts

STORY: Schreiber, best known as the star of the Showtime series "Ray Donovan", said that he had been "overwhelmed" by the resilience of the Ukrainian people on visits to the country and that they are "going to win" the war.

Schreiber said that "because a lot of people in my industry know that I'm Ukrainian, they were calling me and asking me how they could help or where to donate. And I didn't have a good answer, so I got together with some friends ... and we developed BlueCheck whose concept really is to identify, vet and fast-track financial support to NGOs on the ground in Ukraine, preferably Ukrainian, so that they can get the money where it's needed most."
