Teddy bears rain down on ice hockey charity event

The Bears, a minor league affiliate of the NHL's Washington Capitals that play in the American Hockey League, last held the event in 2019 and collected 45,650 stuffed toys that were thrown onto the ice.

The Toss is triggered by the first Bears goal of the game and that came in the first period when Axel Jonsson-Fjallby scored on the power play. Bears went on to defeat the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-0.

The event was not held in 2020 due the coronavirus pandemic.
