JULIE HYMAN: Welcome back. We've got some economic data we want to run through right now, just coming out at the top of the hour. Let's start here with the ISM Manufacturing Index coming in at 47.4. That's versus the 48 that was estimated. Prices paid, though, coming in higher than estimated as part of that 44 and 1/2 versus the 40.4 that was estimated from analysts. By the way, this measure of manufacturing down for the fifth straight month. It is now at the lowest since May of 2022.

At the same time, we got the JOLTS job openings, which we are watching very closely as we've been discussing, and the Fed is too. These are the numbers for December, and job openings rising to 11.01 million in December from 10.44 million the prior month. So still seeing increases in job openings. This is not what the Federal Reserve wants to see. We will be discussing much more in a moment. But stocks remain in the red.
