U.S. home prices decline for third-straight month

Yahoo Finance Live's Dave Briggs reviews recent U.S. home prices figures, as well as consumer confidence index data from the month of November.

Video transcript

DAVE BRIGGS: Get you up to speed now. Some economic data out today. First up, higher interest rates, again, reflected in falling home prices. The Case-Shiller Index, which measures home prices across the country, fell 1% from August to September. The index down 2.6% over the past three months.

However, pull back a little bit-- home prices still 10.6% higher than they were a year ago. All in all, a pretty good number if you're a homeowner. We also got a glimpse at the consumer today. The Conference Board reporting that the Consumer Confidence Index fell again to 100.2 this month. That's down from 102.2 and this the lowest reading since July.
