US recession not a 'forgone conclusion' -CIO

STORY: Ladner pointed out the labor market is strong and so are corporate earnings which has led companies to give out raises. He says that means consumers have less debt and are "willing and able to spend money" so they are in a solid position as the economy weakens. "We are not starting with a blow to consumer," Ladner says.
