BMW X4 Sport Activity Coupe now on sale in NZ

The all-new BMW X4, a brand new Sport Activity Coupe following in the footsteps of the iconic X6, is now officially on sale in New Zealand - and BMW dealers around the country are reporting significant interest in the dynamic new sports performance model.

"The trailblazing predecessor to the X4, the larger X6, was the first Sport Activity Coupe in the world and has enjoyed considerable sales success with more than 250,000 units sold globally since launch in 2008," said Managing Director of BMW Group New Zealand, Nina Englert.

"We have similar high hopes for the X4 as it too offers considerable benefits in terms of functionality, versatility - and of course performance."

With signature BMW X features, unmistakable Coupe character, a distinctive design and excellent dynamic ability, the BMW X4 creates a whole new proposition for sporty minded customers who still require high levels of versatility and desire premium motoring with a point of difference - a sporty, Coupe styled SAV.

Styling is a high point of the new BMW X4. The distinctive front face of the new model guarantees it is immediately recognisable as a member of the BMW X family: Light bands around the outer edges of the headlights are slightly flattened at the top and back and make for a broad appearance.

The distinctive radiator grille surround in chrome and the large front air inlets underline the X4’s sporting potential. In profile, the low Coupe-style roofline extending into the rear is a distinctive feature which also clearly sets the BMW X4 apart.

The generously sized interior of the BMW X4 combines sportiness and exclusivity with high-level functionality. Every BMW X4 comes equipped with 40:20:40 split fold rear seats which allows for a flexible luggage compartment capacity of between 500 and 1,400 litres.

The BMW X4 will be available with a choice of two BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engines, both fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission featuring gear shift paddles on the steering wheel. Engine options are a frugal 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine or a powerful, torque-laden 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line diesel engine.

Both engines excel with their tremendous revving ability, spontaneous power development and outstanding refinement.

Standard features that highlight the dynamic credentials of the BMW X4 include Performance Control and variable sports steering, both of which combine to enable a higher level of dynamic cornering and handling with maximum grip, excellent directional stability and a very high degree of steering precision as well as comfort when parking.

As with all new models available from BMW, the X4 comes with a five year warranty and road side assistance as standard, as well as three year scheduled servicing.
