United States stock markets will close early on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
The Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will both close at 1 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve, according to their websites. The U.S. bond market will also have an early closure on Dec. 24, with markets set to close at 2 p.m. ET and remain closed on Christmas Day, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
The stock and bond markets will reopen on Thursday, Dec. 26 and it will be business as usual on Wall Street for a few days. The next scheduled stock market closure is on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, in observance of the new year.
Bond markets will also close early on New Year's Eve, with markets closing at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The NASDAQ and NYSE will close at normal time that day.
