A postwoman who shelled out $120AUD for a fresh cut and colour was left horrified when the results left her with a completely wonky hairline.

Rachel White, 20, spent four-and-a-half hours in the chair at Arista Hair and Beauty salon near her home in south Wales and was initially impressed with her new ‘do.

But when she got home, Rachel was horrified to see long strands of hair hanging down from her blunt cut.

The results were so jarring her cousin had to trim the jagged hair-do before Rachel could even face going out on her postal rounds.

“I didn’t think twice about not looking at the result because I’d been in there so long,” Rachel said.

“I’d only asked for a trim so wasn’t expecting to see much change but as soon as I got home my cousin said: ‘You need to look in the mirror, your hair isn’t even’.”

“So I washed it first and styled it my own way but there was no denying how bad the hair cut was.”

Rachel then took to Facebook to complain to the salon, saying her wanted to ‘warn others about (her) terrible experience.’

“I received a message from the salon telling me to come back and they’d fix it but they didn’t apologise.

“No way was I going back there.”

Luckily, staff at another nearby salon offered to fix Rachel’s hair free of charge but it meant even more of her hair had to be chopped off to even out the results.

“My hair is now about 3 inches shorter than what I asked for,” she said, adding: “I won’t be able to wear my hair down for a very long time as it’s embarrassing.

“It’s really knocked my confidence and I won’t be taking selfies until its all grown back.”

A statement from Arista confirmed the salon is ‘taking detailed legal advice’ before referring to Rachel’s response as ‘slanderous and defamatory’.

“We are also taking advice from the Police regarding published threats to our business and livelihood and damage to our reputation as a professional salon,” they said.

“This lady was given every opportunity to return to our salon to discuss her concerns and for us to view the alleged styling concerns, she was offered a full refund also despite us not having the opportunity to view for ourselves the alleged errors in person.

“(Rachel) left our salon happy and paid in full at the time of the styling.”
