Boeing Starliner Launch Set for Next Week. Here’s What to Know.

Boeing Starliner Launch Set for Next Week. Here’s What to Know.

Boeing will have another go next week at the first crewed launch of its Starliner—the commercial aerospace giant’s reusable spaceship designed to take astronauts to and from the International Space Station. The United Launch Alliance, or ULA, a 50/50 joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin said on Tuesday evening that the updated launch date would be Friday, May 17, around 6:16 p.m. ET. The CST-100 Starliner launch was originally scheduled for this past Monday, but was scrubbed because of an ”oxygen relief valve on the Centaur Stage on the Atlas V.” Atlas V is the ULA rocket that will eventually carry Starliner into orbit.
