The U.S. FAA has opened another investigation into Boeing, which was already facing probes related to a Jan. 5 panel blowout on a 737 MAX. The FAA wants to know if Boeing completed inspections to confirm adequate bonding and electrical grounding where wings join the fuselage on certain 787 Dreamliner airplanes at its factory in South Carolina. Boeing informed the FAA that an employee at the South Carolina plant found irregularities in a 787 test - and said in an email from a company vice president that the planemaker "learned that several people had been violating company policies by not performing a required test, but recording the work as having been completed."

UPDATE 1-Colombia's Ecopetrol posts 29% fall in Q1 profit, hikes production outlook
Colombia's majority state-owned oil producer Ecopetrol reported its first-quarter net profit fell 29.1% to 4.01 trillion Colombian pesos ($1.03 billion) compared to the same period last year, the company said on Tuesday. The Bogota-based company's revenue totaled 31.30 trillion pesos during the January-to-March period, down 19.4% from a year ago, it said in a filing to Colombia's stock exchange. Ecopetrol is the largest oil and gas producer in Colombia, one of Latin America's mid-range drillers, behind regional heavyweights Brazil and Mexico.
