Halloween Haunts: ‘Amityville Horror’ house on the market for $850K

5,000 square feet. Extensively remodelled. Five bedrooms, and three bathrooms. For less than $1 million, it sounds like a real estate bargain.

Everything seems perfect until you find it in the property that inspired the "Amityville Horror" movies, and where Ronald DeFeo JR. shot and killed six members of his family in 1975.

George and Kathy Lutz and their three children moved in just a month later, but only last 28 days. They claimed the house was haunted.

Now, the Long Island, N.Y. home is back on the market for $850,000, down from $1.15 million a few years ago.
