Applicants vying for ‘world’s toughest job’ get a surprise

Would you be willing to work 135+ hours a week, 365 days a year without a break or holiday? Well that’s just part of the criteria you have to meet to apply for the world’s toughest job.

A Boston agency posted a job listing online for a ‘director of operations’ position at a company called Rehtom Inc.

The job requirements sounded nothing short of brutal. Applicants must be ready to exert themselves 24 hours a day, be willing to forgo any breaks, work mostly standing up and/or bending down and be able to manage a minimum of 10-15 projects at one time. Additionally, they must hold degrees in medicine, finance, and culinary arts. The workload will increase over the holiday periods and the position is paid nothing.

The job ad got 2.7 million impressions and 24 people inquired. These 24 people were interviewed via webcam and their real-time reactions were captured on video.
