Justin Thomas was back home in Kentucky for an occasion different from any other time in Louisville. The city honored him with its “Hometown Hero” award, and a 60-foot banner was unfurled from the building he used to pass on the way to Saint Xavier High School. FOREX-Dollar up slightly after consumer sentiment data, CPI eyed
The dollar inched higher on Friday following a reading on U.S. consumer sentiment as investors sorted through a batch of comments from Federal Reserve officials, with the focus beginning to turn toward key inflation readings next week. The greenback pared declines and turned modestly higher after the University of Michigan's preliminary reading on consumer sentiment came in at 67.4 for May, a six-month low and below the 76.0 estimate of economists polled by Reuters. The dollar had weakened on Thursday after a higher than expected reading on initial jobless claims fueled expectations the labor market was loosening, adding to other recent data that indicated the overall economy was slowing.

According to a report from Aflac, 89% of US workers feel "high levels of stress" at work. As inflation concerns continue and recent data from the April jobs report shows the yearly increase of wages was only 3.9%, the lowest since June 2021, Americans are feeling massive pressure. Aflac Chief Human Resources Officer Jeri Hawthorne sits down with Brad Smith on Wealth! to give insight into employee burnout and addressing the importance of mental health in the workplace. Hawthorne explains an interesting finding from the survey: "One of the things that we found was that more than half of the people that we surveyed, from the Aflac Workforces Report, said that they couldn't go one month without a paycheck.
