Ford profit falls, PayPal eyes fresh high, Weight Watchers pops

Here’s a look at some of the stocks the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Ford (F) reported a beat on both its top and bottom lines for the first quarter. However, net income fell 35% from a year ago, dragged down by recalls, lower sales and an increase in commodity prices, like steel and other metals.

PayPal (PYPL) shares soared this morning eyeing a fresh high. The company raised its outlook for the year after it delivered stronger-than-expected earnings and revenue for the first three months of the year. Revenue soared 17% from a year ago thanks to an increase in payment processing volumes and user growth.

UPS (UPS) shares got a nice bump in early trading. The package delivery company reported earnings and revenue that topped analysts’ estimates for the first quarter. Revenue jumped more than 6% from a year ago as it benefited from higher delivery costs, but rising expenses weighed on profits.

Weight Watchers (WTW) stock was sharply higher in early trading following news that HSN Chief Executive Mindy Grossman will take over the corner office at the weight-loss company in July as president and CEO.
