The hilarious Davide joke you might have missed

Love Island 2022 is shaping up to be one of the best series of the show we've had in, well, a reaallly long time. A huge part of this is, let's be real, down to Italian stallion and Manchester-based business man Davide Sanclimenti and actress Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu who are the undisputed main characters and agents of chaos, drama and hilarity.

These two also have a real "enemies to lovers" narrative arc going on, what with an earlier moment in the season where Ekin-Su kissed bombshell Jay Younger while being coupled with Davide. In an explosive argument, Davide confronted Ekin-Su and called her a "liar" and an "actress" and broke up with her. But, not all was lost, since then the duo have recoupled and become a firm fan favourite for their show-stealing personalities.

On last night's episode, Davide came back into the spotlight for a hilarious moment you might well have missed, as he took to commenting on recent drama in the villa. Like you probably know, the islanders have been experiencing the collective Mercury Retrograde that is Casa Amor and all the potential for betrayal and confusion that this brings.

Among the twists and turns? The full revelation of what Andrew Le Page got up to in Casa Amor with his new flame Coco Lodge, unbeknownst to then-partner Tasha Ghouri. In Friday's episode, Coco filled Tasha in on the fact that her and Andrew had kissed various times outside of any challenges, in bed and also in the pool – all while he was still technically coupled up with Tasha. Yikes!

Firing back at Andrew's shenanigans, Tasha labelled him a "f*cking liar" (an understandable reaction, IMO). At this point, Davide piped in with a joke that fans are still not over, saying; "That's my line, Tasha."

Over on Twitter, LI fans were clearly obsessed with the quip, which references Davide's earlier spat with Ekin-Su. One Twitter user even noted; "Davide said one line all episode and it was still the funniest thing anyone said."
