Grab a mug and pull up a chair because the tea is HOT. Pitch Perfect actress Brittany Snow just appeared on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, where she opened up about everything from her divorce from Tyler Stanaland to watching his kiss with Selling the OC's Alex Hall while at home on her own.
Then, Alex Hall took to Instagram with a shady indirect post, which she then claimed wasn't about Brittany at all. In the words of Palm from Gavin and Stacey; Oh, I just love the drama, Mick! Here's a brief timeline of what exactly has happened.
2020 - Tyler and Brittany get married
The pair started dating in 2018, later getting married in March 2020. In December 2021, John Tucker Must Die to Hairspray actress Brittany opened up about how happy their relationship was during lockdown, telling Us Weekly, "I love being married. It’s not any different, but being married in a pandemic is really like the test of everything if we can get through that, we’re good to go.
"If anything, it was the ultimate honeymoon because we were just staring at each other for six months, just here it is, you know?"
January 2022 - Selling the OC season one drops
Tyler Stanaland appears in Selling the OC season one, revealing his colleague Kayla Cardona tried to kiss him at a work drinks - despite the fact he was married at the time.
"She genuinely tried to kiss me," he said on the show at the time, before opening up on the We Have the Receipts podcast about how he and Brittany managed to keep their relationship strong during the drama. "Communication. Trust. I think those are the two most important qualities right there. Being able to talk about things that happened while filming. Understand what’s happening."
September 2022 - Brittany and Tyler announce their divorce
Brittany and Tyler share news of their divorce after two years of marriage. The joint statement read:
"After time and consideration, Tyler [Britt] and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another. We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives. We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter."
September 2023
The second season of Selling the OC drops, and in it, Tyler reveals he and Brittany have divorced - and that he's been relying on fellow agent Alex Hall for support.
In the final episode, we saw Alex and Tyler in the hot tub at Polly's pyjama birthday party. Tyler reveals his feelings for Alex, explaining everything he loves about her, and how she's different from anyone else he's ever been with. The pair then kiss.
He then told US Weekly of Alex; "I think we’re still navigating our friendship. Obviously, you see in season 2 [that] we explore some things. It leads to a steamy moment and I think we’re still kind of trying to figure it out, but we remain really close friends and I don’t have an answer [on where we stand] for you at the moment."
March 2024
Brittany appears on Call Her Daddy, and opens up about Selling the OC seemingly revealing things about her relationship. Alex Cooper asks Brittany, “You went through a very public divorce with your ex. What did you feel when you saw this play out for the world to see?”
Brittany responded: "I will preface this with…they took up a lot of energy and emotion at the time. I don’t want to give them any more time and energy. Because then they would win. And they would get what they wanted. Which was getting my time and energy and attention.
"I was not aware of a lot of things. And I’ll say that. I will say, what people think happened, happened. And I think that there’s also, in my experience with this, there’s a lot of grace that I give myself…There’s a part of this that I don’t have a part in. They messed up. I tried very hard to see it all from every side. And release that anger. I had instincts. And because I was in love…I didn’t trust them.
When asked if she watched the kiss between Tyler and Alex in the hot tub, she replied, "Of course I saw it — I watched it with my dog. What people think happened, happened — now I can laugh about it. It's insane and it's so funny."
March 2024
Alex Hall posts a *suspiciously timed* Reel from her holiday, adding the text, "Imagine talking shit about me in your ugly town to your stinky friend and I'm just over here having breakfast in Lake Como before having a massage."
She added in the caption, "PSA: You will never be criticised by someone doing more than you. When working your way to the top, always have your blinders on. Focus on yourself, your goals, and what’s important to you. xx"
Obviously, fans thought she was taking aim at Brittany, calling her out in the comments. To which Alex then commented again to clarify, "People in my comments really jumping to a conclusion that this post is related to something that it’s not. Y’all are here to stir up your own drama for reeeeeal."
