"It is very satisfying to have one of our New Zealand team taking over this role from Dwayne Crombie, who is being promoted to be MD of Bupa’s health insurance group in Australia. Grainne is an outstanding leader who is more than capable of leading Bupa New Zealand in achieving its ambitious goals. Her background with BUPA and experience in health will be invaluable as we continue to explore new opportunities for Bupa to play a broader role in New Zealands healthcare sector."

Grainne has lived in New Zealand with her husband and four children since 1997. As well as her achievements in health Grainne has also had a considerable career as an international swimmer. She was the first Irish woman to swim the English Channel, represented Ireland at international level and in 2001 swam the Cook Strait.
