João Klauss scored twice in the second half to spark St. Louis City to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on Saturday night. Rasmus Alm scored his first goal of the season — unassisted in the 2nd minute — to give St. Louis City (3-1-7) an early lead that lasted until halftime. Hugo Cuypers pulled Chicago (2-6-4) even in the first minute of the second half, using assists from defender Andrew Gutman and Chris Mueller to score his third goal of the season and first since scoring in back-to-back matches in March.

China's ICBC to kick off TLAC bond sales with issuance of $4.15 billion
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China said it would issue 30 billion yuan ($4.15 billion) worth of total loss-absorbing capacity (TLAC) bonds on May 15, marking the first issuance of such bonds by a Chinese bank. China's major state-owned lenders face growing pressure to raise capital, especially as demands mount to support the economy, property developers and local government financing vehicles. The world's largest bank by assets said it would issue 20 billion yuan in a tranche of four-year bonds it can redeem at the end of three years, and 10 billion yuan in six-year bonds with conditional redemption at the end of five years.

South Korea prepares support package worth over $7 billion for chip industry
South Korea is readying plans for a support package for chip investments and research worth more than 10 trillion won ($7.30 billion), the finance minister said on Sunday, after setting its sights on winning a "war" in the semiconductor industry. Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok said the government would soon announce details of the package, which targets chip materials, equipment makers, and fabless companies throughout the semiconductor supply chain. The program could include offers of policy loans and the setting-up of a new fund financed by state and private financial institutions, Choi told executives of domestic chip equipment makers at a meeting, the finance ministry said in a statement.
