Tempur Sealy: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) _ Tempur Sealy International Inc. (TPX) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $42.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Lexington, Kentucky-based company said it had profit of 77 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.02 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.17 per share.

The mattress maker posted revenue of $729.5 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $738.5 million.

Tempur Sealy shares have declined 26 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 29 percent in the last 12 months.
