UOB launches online TDSR calculator to aid clueless homebuyers

1 in 3 homebuyers do not understand the TDSR.

United Overseas Bank today launched a property calculator online to help potential home owners determine their total debt servicing ratio for mortgage loan applications.

This tool was developed in response to a UOB survey released in March which found that one in three home buyers were unaware or did not understand the TDSR criteria for property loans.

Under the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) TDSR framework, financial institutions can only offer
loans to customers with a total debt servicing ratio of 60% or lower.

UOB’s TDSR calculator covers loans to purchase and to re-finance properties across all property types,
including private residences, Housing Development Board (HDB) flats, international properties and
commercial properties. The service is free and can be found on UOB’s website under the Bank’s Mortgage
Resource Centre.
