Belarusian sprinter is 'in the hands of authorities': IOC

Krystsina Tsimanouskaya, 24, spent the night in an airport hotel, IOC spokesperson Mark Adams said at media conference, after she sought protection from Japanese police at Haneda airport late on Sunday.

Adams said the IOC would continue conversations with Tsimanouskaya, who remains in Tokyo, on Monday morning.

"The IOC and Tokyo 2020 will continue their conversations with her, and the Japanese authorities, to determine the next step in the upcoming days," Adams said. "We're talking again to her this morning to understand what those next steps could be, what she wants to pursue, and we will give her support in that decision. As I say, she is in the hands of authorities at the moment."
