Cannes Film Festival all shook up by 'Elvis' premiere

STORY: Actor Austin Butler, who plays Elvis Presley, was greeted by ecstatic fans as he stepped onto the Croisette.

Director Luhrmann wore a large-buckled belt with the "Jailhouse Rock" singer's name emblazoned on it and proudly showed his accessory off to photographers.

Actor Tom Hanks plays Presley’s enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the big-screen drama that explores over 20 years of the life and music of the iconic musician.

Central to the timeline is Elvis’ relationship with his wife Priscilla, played by Olivia Dejonge.

The real Priscilla Presley, now 77, joined Luhrmann and the “Elvis” film team in Cannes, who cosied up to Luhrmann wearing a chocolate-brown gown.

The film is screening out of competition at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which closes on Saturday.
