Indian soldiers killed in landslide laid to rest

STORY: The landslide occurred in the early hours of a remote area in the northeast state of Manipur on the night of June 29. The army and rescue task forces were drafted into joining the search for survivors.

Footage showed India’s army holding wreath laying ceremonies and bidding for farewell to soldiers killed in the landslide.

Unprecedented rains have lashed India's northeastern states and neighbouring Bangladesh this month, killing more than 150 people. Millions have also been displaced by the catastrophic floods in recent weeks, and in some low lying areas, houses have been submerged.
