Yahoo Finance anchors discuss Norwegian Cruise Lines removing some COVID-19 protocols.

Video transcript

BRIAN SOZZI: Norwegian Cruise Lines is ending its COVID-19 testing, face mask, and vaccination requirements to board its cruises. However, Carnival and Royal Caribbean still testing unvaccinated passengers, which is interesting, because we know vaccinated people can get it and spread it too, but there we go. And so this just, again, showing kind of another phase of where we are in this pandemic. You guys rushing out to take a cruise now?

BRAD SMITH: No, I'm not getting on a cruise ever.

BRIAN SOZZI: You know me, I did cruises. I'm looking forward to--

JULIE HYMAN: You don't go on vacation.

BRIAN SOZZI: No, I've taken, like, two cruises.

JULIE HYMAN: When?

BRIAN SOZZI: They were media sailings--

JULIE HYMAN: When was that? When was this?

BRIAN SOZZI: --but nonetheless. A couple of years ago. A couple of years ago. But anyway--

BRAD SMITH: Media sailing?

BRIAN SOZZI: Yes. We'll take it off.

JULIE HYMAN: That doesn't count as a vacation.

BRIAN SOZZI: No, it doesn't. But we're talking to the CFO of Norwegian, Mark Kempa later this week, and it's a fascinating time for this industry. We just saw Carnival Cruise line come out here last week and warn big time stock got slammed. I wonder what Norwegian is saying.

BRAD SMITH: Well, all of them are doing this right now too, to try to make it more appealing to customers and trying to re-engage them. With some of the marketing dollars that they may have trimmed, now it's just coming down to policies. Where can you kind of relax some of the policies in order to re-engage with a very loyal fan base that many cruise goers are typically?

JULIE HYMAN: Yeah, well, I don't know how that's going to work. We'll talk to him about it later in the week.
