Pope prays for peace in Ukraine

STORY: "The world needs peace. Not a peace based on the balance of arms, on mutual fear. No, that does not work. That is going back in time by 70 years," he told the faithful in St. Peter’s Square.

"We need to move from political, economic, and military power strategies to a global peace project," he added.

Since the Russian invasion in February, the 85-year-old pontiff has repeatedly condemned the conflict and called for peace.
