- Watching two of the newest members of the S&P 500 as well. We'll get to those in a second. Let's take a look at the Dow, though, first. Let's put this on a chart for you just as we kick off today's trading activity. Now, populate that. Why not a year to date view, just to give you the setup that we've got coming into this the midpoint of March.

All right. Taking a look at the Dow right now. Year to date, up 3%. Today, 3/10 of a percent. NASDAQ composite, my goodness. Rip your face off to start the day. It's up by about 1.2% here. 193 points to the upside there. 7.7% year to date.

A little bit of chop there that we've seen in this month so far. So we'll see exactly where that nets out as we move forward. And the S&P 500, you're seeing that up. To start the day, green across the screen. Up by about 9/10 of a percent, 8/10 of a percent.

We'll round that off too. It's waffling in and out of that midpoint anywhere. Anyway, 8% higher, year to date. Let's take a look at some of the heat maps here. We heard you like heat maps, so we loaded up some heat maps for you.

Take a look at those NASDAQ 100 names. Microsoft is down by about half a percent to begin today's trading session. But in some good news areas, we've got Apple up by about 1.7% to begin today's trading activity. Google, Alphabet, Alpha Google, whatever you're calling them, call them higher by about 6% right now.

Amazon, NVIDIA, Meta also higher. NVIDIA is going to have their conference kicking off today as well. Our own Dan Howley is going to be reporting from there. Big week of earnings. By market cap here, you've got Accenture, Pinduoduo, Nike, Micron, FedEx, Lululemon, General Mills all coming your way.
