Taco Bell joins forces with Pete Davidson in new ad campaign

Yahoo Finance's Akiko Fujita explains why Taco Bell hired Pete Davidson as its Chief Apologist.

Video transcript

AKIKO FUJITA: Well, now it's time for a quick detour away from the business headlines. Taco Bell is joining forces with Pete Davidson in a new ad campaign to convey the brand's apology for past breakfast antics. The fast food chain is toning down its breakfast offerings and focusing on delivering comfort and familiarity to consumers, such as eggs, melted cheese, crispy hash browns.

Two 30-second TV ads featuring Davidson will be released this month and run until December 24. Taco Bell global chief brand officer noting this pivot in its breakfast strategy aligns with consumers' morning mentality by turning up our focus on ease and familiarity. Is that what Pete Davidson conveys? Ease and familiarity. All right, we'll be looking out for those ads.
