Take-Two features NBA's Steph Curry in upcoming 'PGA 2K23' game

Take-Two's newest game PGA 2K23 will offer NBA players like Steph Curry and Michael Jordan.

Video transcript

DAVE BRIGGS: My play is Take Two Interactive. The symbol is TTWO. That's the maker of golf game "PGA TOUR TK23." I don't know why that is so hard to say. That will feature basketball superstar-- basketball, yeah-- Steph Curry in its latest golf version. The Golden State Warriors four-time NBA champ, he'll be decked out in Under Armour gear head to toe. And that's not the only basketball legend in the virtual links. Steph could go one-on-one against Michael Jordan, who's also playable in the special edition versions.

Take Two also in the news last week for buying Zynga-- that's the maker of "Farmville"-- and "Words with Friends" in a cash and stock deal valued around $12.7 billion. The gaming environment has not been all good this year, as you know. Take Two down 37% year to date. Shares today had a very nice day on the golf course, up more than 4%, Rachelle.

RACHELLE AKUFFO: I mean, I do love the crossover between golf and basketball. I mean, who knows? Maybe on the golf course, you can settle some of these discussions people have about Jordan in his prime, Curry in his prime, at least just on the golf course, though-- clearly not in basketball. But I love the crossover. You can have fans of both getting to enjoy something. So I'm on board with this. I do like this idea. What about you, Seana?

SEANA SMITH: I think it makes a lot of sense. Obviously, two huge names with big followings now putting this in their "PGA 2K23"-- it is a mouthful Dave. To say, I think it makes a lot of sense. It will be interesting to see if some more golf fans come over and enter into this game. Charles Barkley comes to mind. Not as great as a golfer clearly maybe as Steph Curry and Michael Jordan--

DAVE BRIGGS: [? Terrible. ?]

SEANA SMITH: --to put it nicely, but still, though, there are certainly a lot of fans of golf in the basketball world, a lot with many, many followers. It could make more sense to have a little bit more of a crossover here in the future.

DAVE BRIGGS: I actually think we need a little Steph Curry, Michael Jordan. That should be the next pay per view golf event. Let's get on that.

SEANA SMITH: And a gold mic the whole time.

DAVE BRIGGS: And we need to let them bet. Get on that, Turner Sports. All right.
