Ukrainian forces raise flag in contested Kharkiv region

STORY: In a video released on social media on Tuesday (October 4), a uniformed Ukrainian soldier films himself while another man, who is not in uniform and standing on a roof, erects a flag.

The village in Kharkiv region is near Svatove, which lies on an important road used by the Russians for supplies and is approximately 37 miles (60 kilometres) from Lyman, the main Russian bastion in the north of Donetsk province which has been recently captured by Ukrainian forces.

Reuters was able to verify the location of the video from the building, trees and road layout seen in the video which matched satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to independently verify the date it was filmed.
